Our promise in one line
Who decides, and how
The pilot decides, on the field. They check the wind at the ground and at flying height, the forecast until after landing, and the visibility. If one of these isn't right, the balloon stays on the ground, even if other companies fly.

When will I know?
- The evening before, if the forecast is clearly bad.
- At the launch field, if conditions change overnight. Sometimes we wait a little to see if the wind settles.
Which weather stops a balloon?
- Wind that is too strong at the ground or higher up
- Rain, storms or a forecast of wind rising before landing
- Low visibility: fog or dust that hides landing fields
How to protect your trip
Book your flight for the first or second morning of your stay. If the weather moves your flight, there's still time to fly on another morning. Winter and windy spells have more cancellations; spring and autumn usually fewer. Best time to fly.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my balloon flight?
If the pilot decides it is not safe to fly, the flight does not go. You choose: a new date or a full refund. Our weather policy.
What happens if my Marrakech balloon ride is cancelled?
If we cancel for weather or safety, you get a new date or a full refund, and if it happens at the launch field we drive you back to your hotel. If you need to cancel yourself, tell us as early as possible. Read more.
What weather conditions are suitable for hot air ballooning?
Calm wind at the ground and at flying height, good visibility, no rain or storms, and a forecast that stays calm until after landing. The pilot makes the final decision on the field. Read more.
Why do balloons fly so early in the morning?
The air is calmest around sunrise. Later the sun warms the ground and the wind becomes less predictable, so balloons fly at dawn and land before mid-morning.
