Why people choose us
A full briefing, in person
Your pilot briefs you face to face on the launch field and explains everything about the activity, then keeps explaining during the flight. You always know what is happening and why.
We only fly when it's safe, and we're insured
The pilot makes the final decision on the field every morning. If the wind is wrong, we stay on the ground, even if others fly. Every flight is insured.
A real flight: 45 to 60 minutes
Not a short hop. You have time to enjoy the sunrise, the villages and the Atlas Mountains.
Door-to-door transfers
We pick you up from your hotel or riad and take you back. No taxis to organise at 5am.
A proper Moroccan breakfast
Msemen, baghrir, honey, jams, dates, olives, fresh cheese, almonds, fruit and fresh orange juice, at your own private table, never a buffet.
A clear weather promise
If we cancel for weather, you choose: a new date or a full refund. No small print.
Real people to talk to
Before and after you book, you message the team that flies you, not a call centre.
Private flights for special days
Proposals, honeymoons and family trips, with the basket and the breakfast table just for you.
A guaranteed sunrise flight
You fly at sunrise. We never sell you a flight and then put you on a second or third tour later in the morning. Only the clouds are out of our hands.
The best traditional Moroccan breakfast
After landing, we drive you to our base in the countryside, where local families prepare a traditional Moroccan breakfast. It is served at your own private table, set for your group alone, never a buffet: a carved wooden table on Berber rugs, leather poufs, and the balloons and the fields all around you. No long shared tables and no waiting in line.

What is on your table
Products come from local cooperatives, and the breakfast is prepared by local families, so your morning supports the community around our launch field. Tell us about any allergy or dietary need when you book. More about our breakfast, and the VIP breakfast on board.

Why book direct with the operator
When you book directly with Ballooning Experience, you talk to the team that actually flies you, not a middleman. That matters on the small things: the exact pickup point for your riad, a child's age, a fear of heights, a secret proposal, a dietary need or a change of date when the weather turns.
- Transparent prices: what is included is written down before you pay.
- Direct communication: WhatsApp with our team before and after you book.
- Flexibility: if the weather stops us, we move you to another morning or refund you in full.
- Real people: meet our pilots.
- Your money stays local: no commission to an international platform; it supports our pilots, crew, drivers and cooks in Marrakech.
Why guests are advised to book with local companies.
Why is our price different from cheaper offers?
We hear this question often: "I saw a hot air balloon in Marrakech for less. Why is yours €165?" It's a fair question. A balloon flight has real costs: trained pilots, a ground crew, gas, vehicles, insurance and the upkeep of the balloons and baskets. When an offer is much cheaper, something is usually left out.
Look beyond Marrakech. Compare balloon rides around the world: in most balloon destinations, such as Europe, North America or Cappadocia in Turkey, a sunrise flight with a recognised operator usually costs more than €150 per person, depending on the cost of living, the season and what is included. A balloon ride for a few dozen euros is not a bargain: something has to be missing. Here is what our price includes, and what a very cheap ticket can leave out:
| With us (€165) | What a very cheap ticket can leave out | |
|---|---|---|
| Time in the air | 45 to 60 minutes | A much shorter flight, or a later tour after sunrise |
| Briefing | Full briefing in person from your pilot, before and during the flight | A few words at the basket instead of a real briefing |
| Hotel transfers | Included, door to door | A meeting point you must reach yourself |
| Breakfast | Full Moroccan breakfast | A buffet, a snack or nothing |
| Basket | Shared basket, or private for your group | No private option |
| Bad weather | New date or full refund | No refund when the weather cancels the flight |
| Insurance | Every flight is insured | Unclear insurance |
| Extras | Certificate included, no hidden fees | Extra charges on the morning |
What your €165 pays for
- Your pilot and a ground crew who are on the field before you arrive
- The gas, the balloon, the basket and their regular maintenance
- Insurance: every flight is insured
- The vehicles and drivers for your pickup, the chase and the drive back
- Tea at the launch field and a full Moroccan breakfast after landing
- Your flight certificate
And what it really pays for
A balloon flight is not just a ride, and our price is not just a ticket. When you fly with a local company, you are paying for:
- Local families. Our crews and drivers, the local families who prepare your breakfast and the local cooperatives we buy from: your payment stays in Morocco and supports the people who make your morning.
- Responsibility. A team that takes your safety seriously, says "not today" when the wind is wrong, and answers for every detail.
- Satisfaction. A morning organised with care from the first message to the drive back, not a rushed tourist product.
- The image of Morocco. Honest, well-run tourism that makes guests want to come back and tell their friends.
- A memory for life. Not a tourist trap, but a sunrise you will remember for years, and often the best gift of the whole trip.

Questions
Why are some hot air balloon rides in Marrakech cheaper?
A balloon flight has real costs: pilots, ground crew, gas, vehicles, insurance and maintenance. Much cheaper offers usually leave something out, such as hotel transfers, breakfast, a full briefing, the sunrise flight itself or time in the air. Compare balloon rides around the world: in most balloon destinations, such as Europe, North America or Cappadocia in Turkey, a sunrise flight with a recognised operator usually costs more than €150 per person, depending on the cost of living, the season and what is included. So a balloon ride for a few dozen euros should make you ask what has been left out. Why our price is different.
Why should I choose your balloon company?
Because your pilot gives you a full briefing in person before and during the flight, we only fly when it is safe, every flight is insured, you get 45 to 60 minutes in the air, and hotel transfers, breakfast and a certificate are always included. If the weather stops us, you get a new date or a full refund. Why guests choose us.
How do I choose a safe and reliable hot air balloon company in Marrakech?
Book directly with a real balloon company, not a reseller. Many people who sell balloon rides in Marrakech have never flown and do not decide anything about the weather or the flight. A real operator has its own balloons, pilots and crew, a licence, insurance for every flight and a clear weather policy. Ballooning Experience is a licensed, locally owned operator with its own expert pilots. Our checklist.
